Eligibility Requirements – TRIO Educational Opportunity Center
The TRIO Educational Opportunity Center at ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº (ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº) provides vital support for individuals seeking higher education access. To qualify, participants must meet specific income guidelines, educational background criteria, and residency requirements. Designed to serve first-generation college students and individuals from underserved communities, this program ensures equitable access to academic resources, financial aid assistance, and career counseling for those striving toward higher education success.

Is a citizen, national, or permanent resident of the United States or is in the United States for other than a temporary purpose and provides evidence from the Immigration and Naturalization Service of his or her intent to become a permanent resident;
- Must currently reside in one of the following Texas counties: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Walker, Waller, Wharton

Individuals who are high school seniors and individuals 19 years of age or older or individuals that cannot be appropriately served by another TRIO program ( Talent Search, Upward Bound, etc)

Meets federal guidelines to demonstrate financial need.

Expresses a desire to enroll in a program of post-secondary education and requests information or assistance in applying for admission to, or financial aid for such a program.

A veteran regardless of age if he or she satisfies the eligibility requirements listed above.
